OUR PRICING POLICY
Cloud 9 RC's long standing policy of not charging for shipping or handling
has been modified, in order to keep prices as low as practical. The new
policy simply says that , for orders to be shipped to U.S. addresses, no-cost
shipping and handling will continue, but only for orders that total at
least $20. U.S. orders of less than $20 must include $2 extra. We
regret this small-order charge, but our minimal profit margin can no longer
support the old policy. All orders, including foreign, must be paid in
US cash, US money order, or checks on a US bank. Also, because of bank
exchange charges, orders paid by International Money Orders (including
Canadian) must include $4 extra. In any case, shipments to non-USA addresses
must include $5 additional to cover the extra shipping and handling involved,
but we do ship Air Mail. Note: sorry, but we are unable to accept credit

FRITZ' B.I.R.D. (Built Into Rudder Device). The cleverest and most efficient magnetic actuator available. Requires no linkage, because the BIRD is built into the supplied balsa rudder. Simply glue the leading edge assembly to the rear of the model's vertical fin and hook up the two wires to the receiver and it's ready to operate. A CETO compatible plug is provided. Two versions, both normally off to one side (right or left rudder): A is 120 Ohm: $30. B is 200 Ohm: $34. A brand-new and upgraded version of the Twin-Turbo RC system that was

The new system is similar to the old but greatly improved. The new
radio system is digital with a crystal-controlled Rx and Tx for more range
and reliability. The new system, although still on 27MHz, is available
on four different channels; Blue (27.255), Green (27.195), Orange (27.095),

CETO RADIO EQUIPMENT:
>RECEIVER: for simple single channel use. It's great indoors or outdoors,
3 to 6 volts with good range and reliability. Use with the BIRD or CETO
actuators. It works well with old (50's, 60's) single channel pulse type
transmitters (Ace, Mattel, Testors, Controlaire, etc.), for either single
button or proportional pulsing. Weighs only 4 grams (1/7 oz) Size .75"
x .55" x .39" ---$45.00
>ACTUATOR: Physically the same size as the old one, the new CETO actuator
is much more powerful, because it uses a Neodymium magnet (like the BIRD
actuator). It looks like a little servo, but it is actually a magnetic
bang-bang type of actuator. It pulses well so is suitable for proportional
pulse control. Normally off is one extreme rudder position and with signal
it goes to the other extreme position. Needs a push-pull rod to connect
to the rudder (unless you glue the rudder right on top of its bellcrank!).
Weight is two grams. Size is 9/32" x 5/32" x 11/16". Control stroke is
small (about 1/8") so minimum "slop" in system is important.---$35 each
THE NEW LAHTI "LOW-CAL" RECEIVER
The successor to Fritz Mueller's "NO-CAL" receiver. Designated the
RP-27, the "LOW-CAL" weighs only one gram (without hookup wire). Only needs
2.4 to 3 volts to operate. The basic version, which is on a very thin circuit
board, is 5/8" wide and 1-1/4" long and is available for $55.00. The same
receiver, but folded in half, only 5/8" square, is $70.00.

Just the thing for quickly using your Twin Turbo RC system to fly Indoor
RC. Simply inflate with helium at any store that sells party balloons,
strap on the stock Twin-Turbo power unit with the supplied elastic ribbon
and go fly! Complete instructions on how to do it comes with each balloon.

26" DIA. WEATHER BALLOONS:
Basically the same as the 3 ft balloon described above. Smaller and
lighter, also good for flying with the T-T RC system. (comes with same

ALUMINIZED, SAUCER TYPE MYLAR BALLOONS:
35" dia.(flat,before inflation) x 12" to 14" high (inflated). Like
a donut without the hole. Lighter and stronger than the weather balloons.
Tape the TwinTurbo unit on the bottom and go fly (after inflating with
helium). Easier to maneuver in tight places due to less height and drag.
Balloon is decorated with "Happy Birthday" or similar artwork, which doesn't

VL ELECTRIC MOTORS:
The latest and greatest reasonably priced electric motors for your
little RC model. Each has a five to one reduction gear unit which lets
the motor run at efficient high speed to minimize current drain while swinging
a relatively large prop for higher thrust. Example: the little KR-l or
Twin Turbo Mabuchi N20 motors, powered by a 3 cell 50 mah Sanyo battery
pack will operate from 2 to 4 minutes on direct drive using an optimum
prop of about 2-1/2" diameter. The same motor, using VL's reduction gearing,
runs for 9 to l0 minutes, swinging a 4-1/4" dia. Williams Bros prop. Reduction
gearing is the very efficient planetary type, co-axial with the motor shaft;
compact, with gears enclosed to stay clean and well lubricated. Three versions
available: all are 5/8" dia. and have a 1/2" long threaded stud, with one
nut firewall type mounting:
>HY50-K: This very small motor assembly (body length 7/8") weighs only
10 grams (just over 1/3 of an oz). Use the Williams Bros 4-1/4" or 5-1/2"
plastic prop.(enlarge prop hole with #44 drill) Recommended for use on
three 50 mah Sanyo cells. Motor is the Mabuchi N20, same as the TwinTurbo
RC system..... Without prop--$20.00
>HY50-B: This 20 gram motor assembly operates from 3 to 12 volts at
very low drain for a motor that can drive props from 5 to 7" diameter.
Without prop: $18.00.
>HY50-D: At 19 grams this motor assembly is slightly smaller and lighter
than the HY50-B. It delivers more rpm although the current drain is higher--
example: the D at 6 volts on the Wm. Bros 5-1/2" prop draws 1.5 amps at
4500 rpm (almost double the rpm of the B but twice the current). For "slowflyer"
models, use 7 to 7-1/4" dia. prop (Modella, VL, Nikko) Without prop $21.00

BAIRD C02 CHARGER SEAL CONVERSION KIT
Replaces the notoriously leaky rubber seal in the G-Mot blue hand-held
charger which uses 8 or 12 gram cartridges. Makes these old 2mm charger

MODELLA C02 TANK CHARGING NOZZLE
Alum/Brass replacement for original plastic/brass nozzle which is easily
damaged on older Modella and Russian CO2's. Unsolder original fitting,
solder new fitting in it's place.----$12.00
C02 CHARGER:
Superior hand-held unit which uses the larger standard 12 gram C02
cartridge (available from K-Mart, Wal-Mart, etc.) for filling the G-Mot,
Brown, and other brands of C02 motor tanks. A good feature of this charger
unit is that it simply needs to be tightened to pierce the cartridge; no
backing off required to let the C02 get out of the cartridge into the tank,
as required by the Brown type charger. Comes with the preferred 1 mm charge
valve (requires less force and less likely to leak).--- 1mm filler nozzle--$20.00;

EXPERIMENTER GOODIES:
80 ohm coil: 5/16" o.d. x 3/16" i.d. x 5/32" wide, with matching cylindrical
Neodymium magnet, 30mm x 30mm. Try making your own 3-4.5V BIRD-type actuator.
The coil has 9" of micro wires attached. Coils were made by Fritz Mueller.
Magnet is super strong for its' size. CLEARANCE Coil and magnet

>MODULATOR: To convert older type single channel transmitters (such

to actuator to boost power and/or pulse at higher rates to smooth the pulsing

>RATE DETECTOR: 0.8"x 0.8",0.6 gram. Goes between the receiver's rudder
circuit and a second magnetic actuator to provide proportional pulse elevator

>PULSE/SERVO AMPLIFIER WITH RATE DETECTOR: 0.8"x 1.6", 1.4 grams. Provides
push-pull current to rudder and elevator actuators (no side-bias magnets)

2.4", 2 grams. Provides electronic "Galloping Ghost" type action for two
magnetic actuators, when controlled by variable pulse rate and width signals
from a transmitter (such as one using the Lahti Modulator). NOTE: Price
of this board saves $15.00 over buying separate boards. Older type dual-proportional
pulse transmitters may also be used, but the Lahti system offers higher
rate pulsing for smoother action---up to 20 cycles/second to practically

PAGER MOTORS ARE BACK IN STOCK: The same motor shown on the back of the DEC.'98 newsletter, as part of the motor/gear assembly. 1/4" dia. by 11/16' long, with 1mm by 3/16" long shaft. This is a true coreless motor, that operates on from 1-1/2 to 6 volts. Recommended for 1-stage reduction gearing to drive a 3" to 4" prop, using Kenway gears for 4.2:1 reduction. Motor only--$8.00.
KENWAY GEARS ARE STILL AVAILABLE
These are the small plastic gears we previously offered with our pager
motors. There are two pinion gears and two spur gears. The pinion gears
are 10 tooth and the spur (larger) gears are 42 tooth---put either pinion
together with either spur and you get a 4.2 to 1 gear reduction. The reason
there are two of each type is the inside (shaft) diameter.

WE HAVE THE NEW GMW-73 CO2 MOTORS
At 73mm^2, this motor is between the GM63 and the GM120, yet does better
than both. Consider that it swings a 7" prop and with only a 3cc tank will
run at 1800 RPM for 3 minutes. Some modelers report runs anywhere from
5 to 10 min. at lower power. This is 3 ball bearing motor. (two on the
crankshaft and one on the connecting rod lower end)
There are two versions of this motor: The "STANDARD", for $100.00 PPD;
and the "SPECIAL" that has been modified by Fritz Mueller with a 1mm filler
fitting and 1/32" steel tubing, for $110.00 PPD
NEW FMA PRODUCT
We have the new SC-5 (5 amp continuous capacity) ESC in stock and the
cost is only $20.00! It's called the Mini-5, but it's only 1/4"
by 5/16" by 7/8" in size (not counting wires) so it really could be called
the "micro 5". The present version has heavier than needed wiring; a newer
version to come shortly is to have lighter wiring, so maybe that one will
be named the "Micro 5".
Meanwhile, the Mini-5 is fine, has worked very well in tests, has BEC,
works on from 5 to 8 cells. Its' FET rating is 13 amps continuous (with
proper heat sink) so there is an ample safety margin. Weight is only 4
grams. Although this unit has BEC, it does not, however have low-voltage
cut-off, so Rx power will be lost if the batteries are allowed to get too
low.
